To promote 5G research and identify use cases across various sectors, DoT with the guidance from TEC and TSDSI and others, has funded the setting up of 5G Use Cases Labs for identified industry verticals . Use cases of 5G are expected to address some of the current problems of existing technologies and extend to future advancements in Digital India. The 5G use cases will increase and change as the technology implementation gets enhanced and widely adopted.

With the sponsorship and guidance of Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Department of Financial Services (DFS), Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other key stakeholders from Banking and Financial Services, IDRBT has set up 5G Use Cases Lab for Banking and Financial Services.  

The Lab provides the environment to develop, test and demonstrate the use-cases to the relevant Financial Verticals.

The use cases lab will engage with various stakeholders to demonstrate compelling applications that exploit 5G connectivity. Through prototypes and pilots, the lab will also identify gaps and opportunities to enable better solutions in banking and financial services.
